I will return the favor kentol and gift you the 1960 Cubs.

I dont think you will be able to afford Banks.
He might also be a dagger target.

For jbar8888, enjoy the 1940 Philadelphia Athletics. Couple decent outfielders and crap for pitching!

Bullmoose, I went back and forth between giving you a bad team with a couple of studs who are dagger targets or a slightly better overall team with no one you'd want to dagger. I will opt for the 1950 Reds. Good luck with Klu and Ewell.

For Whalers I want the best for him as he gave me a gift that I am sure to enjoy. I am going to send the 1950 Pittsburgh Pirates your way...

They have just a horrendous staff (1.51 Whip 4.86 ERA) and no offensive player below $1M. Cheers!

Midknight, you’ve got the 1950 Phillies and Cubs who give you a few good pitchers (Well, the Phillies do anyway) and some so,I’d lineup options. You’re well set in the outfield and have a good C in Seminick. Third base is pretty solid with Jones. You’ve got half a 1b in Cavaretta and some fairly poor options at 2B and SS. Also both team have exactly one 3b and SS.

My goal then was to find the worst overall team with only one 3b and SS and not too much help anywhere else if possible.

Meet the 1930 Chicago White Sox.

They do have a few pitchers who are usable at this cap, but they’re not really as good as the Phillies you have either. At best it’s a wash. As for offense, well their two best hitters are outfielders where you’re already fairly set. There is a punchless 1b in Watwood. There is one 3b and one SS, and they’re worse than guys you’ve got.

I don’t think this team makes any of your roster decisions easier and likely makes you a little worse at a couple spots. You’ll really have to dig to find a 4th team that doesn’t leave you very dagger-vulnerable.

i have no idea where we are at, backwards, forwards, missed picks, jerk ____, what ever. Can someones post the next 5 or six picks, in the order that the select here in the 3rd, if we are indeed in the third, so I can gain some perspective. My first draft here & I do not want to screw someone else up. The last couple posts don't seem, even though they probably are, in the correct order so I can follow along.

Basically, you can give me my third team anytime now.

well JPeterson. Your team looks fairly well stocked. The problem that created was that every team left supplied no less that 2 guys in your weakest 3 postitions. so good for you. so I decided on an attack plan...I am attempting to giv no help at P, no 700 PA players, and No usable HOFers. Only one team remaining met those requirements. So you get them....The 1950 Chicago White Sox.

Thank you, Beer!

The front page is updated (I will do the standings strike-through after I finish my pick (working now, got back very late that night).

Beernoser gets the 1970 Washington Senators.

I had a lot of boxes to check, and they checked slightly more than MIL from the same season. The SP is useable not great, the C and 2B are mid, the cheap positions are redundant leaving you many challenges for round 4. The RP are not specular, the cheap RP are not super cheap.

No idea if your round 4 can save you, much less dagger proof you, but my goal was to leave you many problems to consider!

redcped - For your 3rd team, I am gifting you the team of my youth: the 1970 Washington Senators. There are a couple of decent pieces that you can use as you build your final team. Frank Howard, who was arguably the best power bat of the late 60's, could be a nice clean-up hitter for your team. So far, Darold Knowles might be the best RP you have in your bullpen. Coleman and Bosman aren't great but give you some additional SP options.

The key player from the Senators that factors into your team mix, is shortstop Ed Brinkman. Great glove and a very light bat, and you can have him at $5.3M. Why Ed Brinkman? His salary is important only because you only have 2 other primary shortstops to choose from right now: Eddie Miller ($5.9M) and Luke Appling ($6.1M). My guess is that you do not want to carry your 2 rostered shortstops at a cost of over $11M when one of them isn't named Honus Wagner. You will likely need to focus your 4th team pick on a team with a low dollar (or two) players at short which could prevent you from filling other holes.

Now a key to my much over-thought plan is some teamwork from ermocito - he owns your first dagger. It will be up to ermocito to dagger your low dollar shortstops and forcing you to potentially carry 2 pricey players when only one of them can play regularly. I'd like to say I came up with this idea on my own, but someone did it to me several versions ago of this theme. It really handcuffed me and basically made me play with a $75M cap.

Obviously ermocito will dagger the player he believes is the most fitting to "screw" your team, and my idea is just an option. However, at the end of the day, regardless of the first dagger, the 1970 Senators don't offer you much to play with.

LOL!!!!!! I typed too slow. I was looking for some teamwork from ermocito and look what I get!

Give me a minute - I have a plan B for redcped.

Easy come, easy go

redcped - After the 70 Senators, my Plan B was the 60 Cubs but they're not available. So on to Plan C - I gift you the 1940 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Same idea as I wrote in my previous massive, but this time I put Arky Vaughn ($6M) into your mix at shortstop. Hopefully this time, ermocito will be a better team player.

The '40 Pirates give you some better hitting options but similar to your '40 CWS. Rip Sewell is a good pitching option for you, but there's not much else after him.
