Ok ermocito.Plenty of Star power on your teams But a key reserve like Bernie Friberg might cause you to bleed some

Redcped for your 2nd dagger have the 40 Whitesox to choose from I must say that I really tried to find a dagger that wasn't the obvious choice. Pitching there is too much depth to throw a dagger. I looked closely at Joe Kuhel and Mike Tresh but other players are better but No surprise here have to go with SS Luke Appling It makes to much sense to leave you with only 3 SS Options for 2 spots.

Farley - time for dagger number two.

No offense, but your division mates really did you wrong with the 30 Red Sox and 50 Nats.

The 70 Twins are such a solid team and yet after three rounds it's a mess. The 70 Mets are a desperate reach for pitching to complete the roster pool. By the way, the 70 Mets look better than the 69 Mets and yet their record was way worse. Why?

Anyway back to business.

This team will have to be a pitcher first team with Seaver, Koosman, Perry, Gentry, Kaat and McAndrew.

It's going to have trouble scoring runs though. Losing Killebrew really hurt as he was the run producer. Instead you may have to manufacture runs and you have one guy who will help you the most in that category with a .440 OBP who plays everyday. Losing him will help you get in under budget, but I'm still going to get rid of a guy I remember growing up as a coach with the Mets.

The dagger falls on Eddie Yost (3B)

I will be looking at your final roster to see how you sort this one out.

Turned out it didn't matter which stadium got the axe. yours seems a power team that has more than one favorable park option; and, should you choose you can go more the base hit route. You did get some dead weight. You have only one player from each team with a 1b designation. None play a secondary position. So dead PA on the bench. I didn't have to consider 1b then. Any way you look at it you have a very good player at every position---until salary and team limits (6-6-6-7) enter in. That is a killer. Your Screw teams actually make it possible to field a team. Pitching a bit thin so I decided to join your first screwer, farleyfustle, and stab a pitcher. I doubled down on the Reds by removing P Wayne Simpson with a knife between the shoulder blades.

jpeterso - Dagger 2

I must say, the 1950 White Sox are more than a dumpster fire, and make Chernobyl look like a Scout campfire. What a mess! My first thought was not to dagger anyone and just leave it for you to decide. Kudos to you for selecting a team where it appears the dagger to any player would be no more harmful to you than a bump on the head from a marshmallow.

Looking at your other teams, there isn't much damage I could do that can't be replaced. Your biggest concern with the '50 Chisox is that you need to keep six of these guys. So, the only player I can see that I believe may have any value to you is RP Luis Aloma. His stats aren't horrific and at $2M a decent value for 93 innings. Hopefully a minor blow to you as you try to construct your bullpen.

Good Luck!

Actually, this is a pretty good dagger. I definitely was counting on him...

Good choice (same for dagger #1) because both players were in my preferred builds.
Lots of work to do today!

Waiting on Preeves22 for dagger #2:
  • He needs to dagger my 1930 Chicago White Sox.
  • I need a #2 dagger target from him.

Grayfoxx offered his 60 Dodgers for a second dagger. I will take away his best shortstop and probable leadoff hitter.

Midknight, I have tried to find a way to screw you with the 1970 Detroit Tigers, and it's quite a puzzle.

Their best pitcher is John Hiller, and he's nothing great. You won't be using many Tiger arms anyway.

You have plenty of similar catchers, so no use dinging Freehan or even his cheap backup Price. You can work around those just fine.

There's no scenario I see where you're using Norm Cash at 1B, so nothing to see there. You have no one cheaper than $1.7M and have to get creative, but Cash is an unlikely piece of that plan.

There's a high likelihood you use 1 or even 2 of the Tigers at 2B, where your options are all pretty weak anyway. A potential spot.

I don't think you'll care if Elliot Maddox or Don Wert disappears from the options at 3B.

You only have 4 shortstops. The Tigers' Gutierrez is the cheapest at $1.7M, but the Browns also have a $1.9M one. You'll be eating some salary here regardless. Maybe you play Kubek in the outfield? I dunno, but I'm not sure taking Gutierrez away makes it all that much harder. But maybe ...

Outfield is intriguing, as you have one cheap guy plus potentially two guys from other positions competing for time since you have no cheap backups at 1B or SS. There are four Tigers outfielders, none of them cheap. Horton, Kaline and Northrup are somewhat interchangeable, and Stanley is the best defender (though not your only option in CF). I could take Horton away since he's the least expensive and a slightly better bat.

What I see as your biggest challenge on this team now is how to use the Indians and Yankees spots most effectively. The Yankees have 5 of your best pitching options, plus Kubek and Maris that you'd probably like to use. The Indians have 2 of your best pitchers, your best 1B and 3B and your best cheap options at a few positions. So I guess the best thing I can do is force you into a harder choice with one of those teams. ... Except I built out this roster as I would have done it, and I'm flummoxed as to which player would cause the most trouble to lose.

Since I can't determine anywhere I can cause real pain, I'll just take another of your best hitters (and a great value) out of the mix and dagger OF Willie Horton. I suspect you won't be too bothered by it, but you'll hopefully let me know sometime if this caused any trouble.
