1988 J4M Progressive - Anti-tanking Draft Formula Topic

The J4M is a 24 team progressive league, led by chargingryno that began in 1963, and currently in the 1987 season. We have 2 teams available that are currently being run by Owners running an extra team.

This league uses a draft formula to determine the 1st round draft order that encourages teams to win as many games as possible, and encourages you to be strategic with the amount of salary you carry on your roster. The 2nd and later rounds are based upon worst record first. After the traditional draft, there is an Add/Drop option and an optional 4 round AAA draft (for actual 1988 players). Teams will have between 25-33 players from 1988, as they choose.
This is an anti-tanking league that encourages you to put the best team on the field for the lowest payroll for 1st round draft positioning.

The 1988 draft will be ready to start shortly after the current season ends. Site mail me or the Commissioner, chargingryno, with any questions or post here:

Okay, fine, I'll take another project. I don't even think I can get Baltimore's keeper list up to $50M though...

Great, Jimmy. Will put you in touch with chargingryno the Commish and Owner of Baltimore. 1987 is starting tomorrow. If he is will to give up and you want sooner, may be able to take over immediately. If you do OK (even below .500) with a low payroll, could wind up with a top tier pick as daily draft recalc. is based on performance relative to payroll. I took a 130 game loser KC over 2 years ago, got to .500 last year and picked #3 in draft. The '88 team will be decent after another draft. So, you can turn around the team in a couple years. Salaries in this league are in the $60-$85M range as people want to be competitive for a top pick.

We have another double team Owner willing to give up a team for a new Owner either immediately (1987 season starting) or for 1988:
This team is a work-in-process with 1987 AB of 5,168 and IP of 1,307. However, has Barry Bonds...
The Franchise could also be moved to another NL site as there is another NY team (at Shea) in the NL East: Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Diego or Atlanta but you'd need to discuss that with the Commish.
