I’ll Take Yankee Stadium

THM76700 is the code for 1972. I am pretty sure we will need exactly 1 new owner, assuming we can get them by Monday 3-9-2026.

If you join, you can be competitive for the 5th season rawards because you will inherit the win count from the owner you replace.

If you enjoy drafts or even fantasy sports, you need to give this league a shot. The WIS draft mod might completely transform how you think about WIS. It did for me!

In 1973, we switch to DH. No way to do it AL only, so universal.

Also, a new "missing manager" policy to prevent end of draft weakness. I am hopeful WIS will help me mitigate this situation mid-draft, so the policy is unlikely to be invoked - but it CAN be.

If a draft ends but a manager fails to draft at least 4 picks before the end, we will mitigate the inequity by requiring each manager to trade one player with a salary over 2 million for an "end of draft" WIS add of lesser salary. Once this policy is invoked, players will have 24 hours to offer a trade for a remaining player (first come). The player you get back should be lower value by salary and per IP/PA.

Managers who do not respond can have the trade selected by the commissioner, excluding their first 15 picks. If more than 1 team isn't drafted, the compensation trades will be divided close to evenly among those teams, but will be limited to 1 per team unless a manager offers more.

After WIS processes these, the commissioner will locate a replacement manager from outside the division.

Don't you think everyone will just offer their 4th OF or one of their relievers? How do you decide who has to give up their starting shortstop?

No risk of starting SS unless picked after 15th round, but many of the r16 SS are a big step up from what's available after the 25th round.

In a future draft, I would take a SS with higher PA in r16 instead of a perfect bench bat to make sure it didn't harm my core team. Then I could trade for a lower value defensive replacement with it hurting much. I might even announce my intentions during r16 so we didn't all focus on SS.

Hoping for round 1 on Friday, April 10.
