FYI. The last critical step to ensure your roster has no transfers belonging to another school (you could also do this at beginning too to avoid getting your heart set on a player to build around).

Put your players in alphabetical order in pro football reference of your school (those with AFL/NFL stats), then go through the 23 players and click on their names. View their profile and look at college. Here is Troy Aikman as an example:

The last school listed has ownership of the player. Troy has Oklahoma, then UCLA. If your school is the only one listed, he is yours. Or your school is the last school listed to finish their college career, he is yours.

If you view through the team, its college. However, if you view through the player search, its schools. I suggest viewing through the full alumni option and just click through the alphabetical list.
