Why a sidewinder? Because this is a snake-style SPEED draft using the WIS draft mod, and the sidewinder is the fastest snake.

With the minimum pick time (2 min) in the draft mod, we should be able to wrap up the draft in a single weekend (assuming 24 people, it should take 20 hours, which means you average 1 pick each 48 minutes. This draft is scheduled for 11am-9pm eastern time on May 6 & 7 (Wed & Thurs). If it has not filled by the Sun before (May 3), I will push back.

Once the league fills, it will generate a schedule so you should know your PRECISE pick times days in advance. If you have not used the draft mod, it is easy to use. You can create a queue that will deplete as players are chosen. Although it will not autopick for you, it is easy to pick from a phone if you are not near a computer for a bit.

The player pool will be randomly drawn from seasons 1920-present (no dead ball), but with some additional limits. I will avoid seasons 1969-1979 because I have another progressive draft going monthly and I want to avoid the added benefit of drafting the same season twice in 6 months. Assuming this draft generates enthusiasm, that window will slowly shift because I will petititon WIS for the progressive bonus.

Another limitation is that we will use 6 years (3 years for batters and a different 3 for pitchers). I will select 5 separate years, none close than 10 years apart, and will alternative B-P-B-P-B-P in chronological order (and reverse to P-B-P-B-P-B the next time).

100m salary cap, which might matter more than in my other drafts with 3 seasons equivalent of players available. injuries yes, DH yes.

I have interest but will be at the Kentucky derby 5/2 and will be driving back home all day 5/3.
