Last place = worst record in the league (AL or NL? all of MLB?) or worst record in their division?
Choose your exclusive World Series year, next take those two franchises and select any season those franchises finished in last place in their division/league. You will build your team with 6 players from each of those four teams twisted to any season of their careers. Your final player is a Wildcard who can be any player from the season of your exclusive World Series year.
For example, if you selected the 2025 World Series between the Dodgers and Blue Jays, you would twist 6 players from each of those rosters, plus 6 players from (for example) the 1905 Brooklyn Superbas (last place finish) and the 1995 Blue Jays (last place finish). Your wildcard selection could be 2025 Aaron Judge or a $200k bench player. The last place seasons do not have to be same season for both franchises, nor are they exclusive to your roster.
