Meaning, the comp. If you draft a player and they turn down your original offer, but ask for more money(blue x), I thought I read that if you did not pay them that, and kept the blue X, you still got the comp pick the folllowing year? It used to be you had to have the red X where they decided not to sign, but thought I read where that changed.

Nothing has changed. You must offer what the player asked for right after the draft and not withdraw the offer. If you offer what they ask and the player comes back with a higher counteroffer, you don't need to pay that in order to get a comp pick. I don't worry about the color of the X's.

Also you don't get compensation for a Type D pick. If the player was from a pick that rolled over from the previous draft, you get nothing if he doesn't sign.
