The Core and a Dozen More
16 Teams Format E (4/4 w/interleague)
Seasons: 1960-2025+ (All 66 seasons are in play)
Initial Draft:
13 Rounds. Random Order for Round 1, then serpentine.
Everyone will draft 13 players, 1 player per round. These 13 Players will be your "Core Players".
Your "Core Players" must start with their FIRST WIS season unless they played before 1960, then they would start with 1960. No seasons before 1960 will be allowed.
There is only one restriction in the Draft and that is, you cannot draft more than 3 Starting Pitchers (SP).
The determination between a pitcher being SP or RP will be based on what they were most in Real Life.
After the Draft, you will get a randomly chosen Franchise.
You'll then select a "Dozen More" players from the Franchise that was drawn for you. These twelve players can use any season from that Franchise within 1960-2025+.
You cannot take a player that was drafted as a Core Player. Core Players are exclusive.
Starting with Season 2 and every Season thereafter:
1. Your "Core Players" will progress 1 season ahead. If they do not have a season, they'll skip to their next WIS season. There is No IR.
2. "Core Players" must play their entire career before being Cut. It will be highly unlikely that there will be any Core Players retiring the first few seasons of the League.
3. To replace Core Players when they retire we'll have a draft. Lowest/First to Highest/Last draft order based on cumulative Salary of remaining Core Players.
4. You cannot draft your same Core Players twice. You can draft Core Players that played for other teams once they retire.
5. The "Dozen More Players" will be automatic Cuts each season.
6. You'll get another randomly drawn Franchise to take a Dozen More Players from again. It will likely be a different Franchise than the previous season, so your team will always be changing.
7. Your Dozen More Players can use any season from the new Franchise drawn, your choice, (within the Cap), to fill your roster.
8. All of the Core Players in the League will be listed for easy cross reference when you are picking your Dozen More Players.
The Total Salary Cap will be set at $50M above the highest total of Core Players on a team for that season.
Example: The highest total salary of Core Players is $70M for Team A. Total team Cap would then be $120M.
Team A can add a Dozen More Players valued at $50M. Team B has a Core Player total of $62M. Their Dozen More Players can total $58M to get them to $120M.
This will put every team on a equal footing regardless of the Salary that their Core Players provide.
