They used to call the “hundred year flood” the “hundred year flood” (Duh!) because they happened about every one hundred years. Here in Western Oregon (and Washington and Northern California) the 1964 flood hit record levels that hadn’t been seen (generally) since 1861. That’s dang near 100 years.
