Promotion Bump Gone Topic

I just completed by annual end of year process of promoting true prospects to the next level. I typically do this during the World Series and about half of the players receive a bump in ratings. This time, out of 15-20 players, none of them got a lift despite a “Promotion” row being listed on their ratings. Did this feature go away?

Hmmm that's odd, I usually get about 50/50, though it's far more likely if they got significant Minor League playoff experience

Ratings "bumps" don't happen because of a promotion. All the "promotion" line on a player profile does is show you where the player's ratings were at at the time of promotion. The player had already gotten the bump up in ratings. All you are seeing is a snapshot of their current ratings.

That has been fiercely debated over the years. You can try comparing coach-driven ratings for players you don't promote from just before rollover and then right after and see what you think.
