You can’t trade players. You can only trade your draft position (all 12) in the initial draft.

For the initial draft, when you draft a player, are you required to take their rookie season?
Nope. If you want to draft Steph Curry and use 14-15 thru 17-18 go for it.

You can not do something like LeBron James 08-09, 12-13, 13-14 and 17-18. You must use four consecutive seasons.
Do you have to declare what season when you draft the player?

No, after the draft is complete you can pick which “class” they are in and select the seasons. I will keep a master list for all to see and update it season by season.

And I will take 2 teams, if needed.

This is very similar to the CAP Theme that cmcafeeky used to run. This is one of my favorite themes and easily my favorite progressive.

This idea is a perfect example why they need to offer leagues with less than 24 teams. You spent a lot of time putting together the concept of this league. You have 12 people who want to play. If they offered a 12 team league you could have a nice run. But no. Instead this league will probably never happen.

After the first draft, do you still get to start your drafted players at any season? What prevents the same players (and player seasons) from just being recycled through the league over and over?

After the initial draft you will have three freshman, three sophomores, three juniors and three seniors. For your freshman, you choose any four consecutive seasons. For example, if the have LeBron James on your team it might look something like this:

freshman LBJ 2010-11
sophomore LBJ 2011-12
junior LBJ 2012-2013
senior LBJ 2013-2014

After he “graduates” he goes back into the draft and someone else will get a chance to use him. They can then choose whichever four consecutive seasons they want to use.

The same players and seasons will be used over and over again, but I don’t think it will be overkill. For example, the 1966-67 Wilt Chamberlain will play in the league only once every four seasons.

In other progressive leagues if someone gets LeBron James they can either play him for 20 seasons or trade him for other assets. In this league he (and every other elite player) will be up for grabs every four seasons.

To further expand on the above, your sophomores need to play in three consecutive seasons, your juniors should be players that have two consecutive good seasons, and your seniors can be anyone who has one great season. You should be drafting with the idea of who will be your freshmen, who will be your sophomores, etc.
