Hopefully they come up with a good way of doing it this time. You should be able to have a league where games are scheduled and you show up to play and get to control your team against either a human or an AI based on whether your opponent shows up too.

100% agree. If a league is based around LIVE games I should be able to LIVE manage my team regardless of whether my opponent does or not. Ideally there is a scheduled time slot and if you show up you can manage and if you don't the AI does.

Id take on a few teams if live came back... not so sure I agree with those last two though, you likely have more problems letting someone live manage games against an AI representing a team taking live games away from that owner unless there is an option for the owner to explicitly allow it.

I agree live has to be head to head

The way live worked previously was that playing live was optional,
The start of the season was delayed, but once the season began, scheduled games would sim.
live games were played ahead of schedule when managers met online.
You could be playing games 3 days ahead of schedule or 100 games ahead.

there was no way to manage a live game against a substitute AI manager.
nor should there be.

Live fell off when it started freezing and kicking players out. Once it comes back I don’t think players would have trouble meeting requirements.
