What's the rationale for the "offseason" option on the rosters page? (IOW, what was it added for people to be able to do that they couldn't do before?) It seems particularly useless.

The position recommendations function used to be somewhat useful, but now it's much less so. It still puts players in CF and at SS who have no business at those positions, but now it makes value judgments about 1B, LF, and DH based on the player's offense, which is an odd thing to consider when rating which players could fill in on DEFENSE at a certain position.

the minimum batter rule is stupid- too many seasons/years of generating low stamina guys that can only throw 10-15 pitches without killing their stamina. Now those pitchers have to face 3 batters? Come on. That was done to limit the length of the actual MLB game, no reason for it here. Now I have to work all of these worthless stamina guys through my system after building up my bullpens. Are we going to add the pitch clock next?
agreed! the modern rule changes for baseball SUCK. no need to implement them here. my guess is many of us are here because the sport we loved disappeared. changing HBD so horribly is going to make me not watch baseball on tv, not go to games, and now not play HBD.

if anybody needs me i'll be watching youtube videos of baseball when fat people didn't patrol the outfields because nobody ever made contact with the ball....

also - does it all have to be the same? can we have an option to not use the horrible new baseball rules?

and here's some facts, then I'm done. Ave viewership of the 2023 world series = 9.11m viewers. Ave viewership of the 1978 world series = 44.27 viewers. So it's not just me, it's the majority of the world. Please please please get some help up there at WIS headquarters before you update yourselves out of business.

Here's another fun fact: There were three TV networks, plus PBS in 1978. Now? Thanks to cable TV and now streaming, there are a bazillion channels to choose from.

As for the three-batter rule, I don't care one way or the other because I don't go after low-stamina pitchers. To me, I don't care how good they are, they aren't available enough to be on my roster.

If anything, the MLB rule changes over the years (whether you like none, some, or all of them) were made to counter declining interest from the majority of the world.

i think they had to opposite affect. the issue with baseball is no salary cap or minimum. no competitive balance and too expensive for fans to attend games. i think it will cease to exist in 5 to 10 years in it's current format.

Still no word on changing the medical limit hell I feel they all should change, adjusting your team financially shouldn't take 4 years to complete 2 should be plenty.

Thanks for that — I hadn't seen it yet — but it still doesn't work right. It adjusts everything based on a single setting, but the different positions are off by varying amounts, so they would need to be separated. So it's a worthless function if you actually want competent defense.

5 million limit per season now I feel it should be 10, two seasons to adjust up or down for each category.
