Has anyone else seen a spike in major injuries since the “fix.” I have had 4 SP across 3 worlds incur 3-4 month injuries all happen since the new logic was introduced. I realize I could just be at the extreme end of the spectrum and it’s bad luck, but hard not to tie back to code changes introduced.

Funny you mentioned this. I just got 5 injury message at today's pm games. 3 more than 15 days . I also have maxed medical and training so I am seeing injuries more it seems as well through my worlds.

Injury frequency was not touched in the release. Only recovery logic.

After some time has passed, it seems this is better than I thought. Early indications are that they did improve recovery, in line with what people were complaining about.

I thought it was only fair to give credit where it is due, since I complained so loudly to begin with!

I've studied injury recovery probably more than anyone. This fix is huge. I just now read all of the above complaints and every single one of them is either short sighted, focused on the users specific strategy or just flat nit-picky.

The only exception is maybe the complaint about the exact number of days. As much as I don't care for it, there is a decent segment of the Hardball Dynasty community that like it and want "as much realism as possible". Hardball Dynasty, in general, suffers because everyone has their own opinion and there's very little to which the community agrees. Admin cant please everyone and I dont like not knowing the exact amount of days either, but some people do like it so im not going to to have a seizure about it. To me, this injury recovery fix is the best thing we could have ever expected. It was a thoughtful way to fix something that nobody thought they could ever fix,

1. Until otherwise proven, it seems like players now have a chance to get full recovery from long term injuries. This is all we can ask for on this front. Expecting anything more than full recovery on a long term injury is unreasonable. Also, think about how we got here in the first place. If certain people got more than full recovery, enough people would whine and moan about it that a future Admin might do something stupid again and change it because it's "unfair". We should be content that a long term injury now has a decent shot at full recovery and the player's guide is finally accurate (the amount of recovery is based on player makeup and medical budget);

2. No more extra recovery on short term injuries. This complaint is short sided. As referenced above, if enough people saw enough players get this extra recovery, enough people would complain to Admin and increase the probability of some Admin in the future doing something brash and stupid by changing it and screwing something up again. That's how we got here in the first place. The new recovery system makes it fair and relatively consistent. Now, if a player doesn't get full recovery, it is likely due to low medical or low makeup rating. This also makes the player's guide accurate again.

3. The argument that we didn't need this. This argument is focused on the strategy of the peson making the argument. Too many people in hbd only look at the game through the lense of their own strategy. I get it, get it, you're better and smarter than the rest of us, right? You don't over pitch your pitchers, you don't over play your position players, you run a rebuild/contend strategy so you have more control over what players you get and you can focus on high health players. If you do all of the above, you can manage your way to less long term injuries and when there was short term injury, you could put the player on the 60 day DL, he gets more than full recovery and it is a nice little cherry on top. That works for you, right? So everyone else that does not run that strategy, screw them, right? No, this new injury recovery fix was needed. Just because you get a bunch of high health players and use a minimalist approach to managing your players doesn't mean everyone should do the same thing. Also, there are thousands of players in each World and somebody has to take the mlb low health players. Stop thinking about the game through the lense of your own strategy and start thinking about the game through the lense of how can it be better and more reasonable for everyone.

4. The argument that this should have been announced then implemented later so some people had time to move up their medical budgets. This is likely the most ridiculous comment I've seen about the recovery fix. "Hey, everyone we have this fix to injury recovery, but we're going to wait four seasons to implement it so you all have a chance to move your medical budgets from $0 to $20" that's ridiculous. Also, it is another example of an hbd user only looking at the game through the lense of their own strategy. I'm quite tired of people doing this. If you're only looking to change the game so that it makes your strategy easier to execute, it is time for you to STFU. We only have these coders for a finite amount of time and they don't need to change the game to make your select strategy easier to execute.

5. Exact number of days isn't always there. I don't like this either, but it adds realism and some people like it. While I'm not a fan, i'm not going to throw a fit about it. The overall fix is fantastic. To focus on this small aspect seems nit picky. Especially if some people like it.

6. Lack of discussion argument. There was a boatload of discussion, it was announced both on the forums and on discord. Also, injury recovery has been broken for so long that there have been many discussions about how it should be fixed going back 6+ years. We knew it was coming, but we didn't know exacty when. I also did the same thing -- didn't know exactly when it was coming, but knew it could be weeks or months and made my DL decisions based on my own expectations. When it came out earlier than expected, sure some players i placed on the DL for 60 days was a wasted stay, but it wasn't that many players and to take the value that the overall recovery fix brings and then complain that a few players had a wasted DL stint seems nit-picky. Seems like you got a three scoop ice cream Sundae with a cherry on top and you're complaining about the size of the cherry.

I agree and this is a perfect breakdown tlowster!

The fix has been great. Players regaining all of their points after short injuries (or not losing any). The vagueness on longer injuries is realistic. I haven't noticed any issues that I would complain about...it's just a minor tweak after all, but it makes a difference.

One thing among the new features coming out...It would be nice to bump the budget just a smidge to help with the 26th man.

Keep 'em coming...been a loooong time since the game had positive updates and any momentum. Nice to see...

There's still plenty to do ; )

Definitely agree on positive momentum.

Thanks. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more about coach hiring changes and player development 2.0. I might start upping my teams again, too. But, at the same time, running four teams has been a nice break. Eleven was way too many.
