Has anyone here used the Assistant GM yet? My main question is whether it makes suggestions or just moves players on its own. If the latter, is there an "undo" function?

Optimize Positions - immediate, no undo functionality
Recommend Promotions - nothing immediate, you decide to proceed or not
Suggest Trades - nothing immediate, you decide to propose the trade or not

Thanks. I think these would be more useful if you added undo functionality to each one. I'd like to try them, but it would be a lot of work to move players back to where they were if I didn't like the changes they've made. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Is there a "no thanks" button? It's great if this is something that will help some guys manage their minor league's better...I'm all for that. And I'm all for updating and freshening the game. But I don't need this help...and I'm sure a lot of others don't. Can we just opt out of the asst GM function?

Also, glad to have you back and looking forward to as many updates and fixes as we can get....please think "REALISM" first! ; )

Right. I won't touch this thing -- I don't want Simmy F'ing with my team.

Who was asking for this feature anyway? It's just clutter.

Yes, there should be an option to just turn this off so it's not on my screen.

Playing around with the "Suggest Trades" option gave me many lopsided trades and no actually helpful suggestions. So I think it might need a little work. One thing that might help would be an "ignore secondary positions" option.

Why is it called "Recommend Position Assignments" if it makes changes that are final, with no undo function?

I tried the optimize minor league rosters. It was a major mistake to do this. Seriously guys, this needs an undo button. It's a disaster.

As for the trade proposals, how about not requiring specific positions since players play or are qualified to play multiple positions and maybe I just need a good bat?

It's a decent idea to have tools like this to help new owners learn the game, but these will not accomplish that as they are now.

Hypothetical: Some seasons ago I wanted to rebuild my team on the fly and put my all-star 1B on the trading block. Total sell high. Former first round pick but he could only play 1B and hit for high average but not a true power hitter.
Other owner trade chats me, offers me his own former first rounder still in the minors - not a great bat but a very good glove. Player ended up being a solid starting CF for a few seasons.
I ended up being flamed in the league forum for taking advantage of a new owner. Truth: I never checked out the guy's record, and he offered the player, I didn't ask.

Wonder if it sounds like this could happen as a result of an Assistant GM "suggestion." Objectively an equitable deal, veteran owners got heated about it.

Possibly so, but right now, the Assistant GM doesn't propose equitable deals from what I can see. Maybe it will someday, after some revisions.

Nightmare ...demoted players that should not have been demoted and they took a ratings hit. Took away all the multiple positions i added to players ...lots of work to undo
