I know this has been discussed on the forum before but I can't seem to find the posts.  Is it wise to save Bob Milacki for the playoffs?  If I save IP on Milacki, will those saved IP be available in the playoffs?  If I use all his IP during the season, is he basically worthless in the playoffs?

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
Pitchers' allocated season pitch counts (which is what WIS uses for pitcher fatigue) will automatically be moved to 90% if you use less come playoff time.  So for some low IP players like Milacki, you aren't saving much by not using him during the season (over use however is a different manner).

So not pitching him at all during the regular season is pointless as come playoff time, as he'll be like he pitched 90% of the innings anyway.

I think that number is 95%.

What is the best way to use him in a TOC? I used him as my closer all regular season. He closed a few playoff games before making a start in the LCS. Then he was done for the season. What's the best approach in the TOC? My assumption is I will just use him to close again as I have decent starting pitching.

if you've rostered Milacki and don't use him as a starter in the TOC before you're eliminated you've wasted him, that's what you're paying for with him there are plenty of one inning relievers of similar quality who are cheaper than him

Yeah, I think it's fine to start out using him as a closer, but I would not hesitate to use him as a starter in a must-win game at any point in the TOC. As 06gsp suggested, getting eliminated without maximizing his innings would be a wasted opportunity.

Yeah in the playoffs I fired the bullet in game 5 of the LCS which was 2-2. I was down 2-1 so it was possible that it would have been 3-1.

My team is from a progressive so I had a good number of starters from 88.
