For those who weren't with us last season, here is the theme of the league:
I have programmed my Twitch chatbot, FUNtoon, to select players for WiS baseball, which will include over 2200 different players. You can find that entire database listed by position, along with relevant source code here: https://pastebin.com/nbyU0tbM
There are no "bad" players, but some are of course going to be better than others, and each should have at least one reasonable WiS season, including low AB/IP seasons of strong stats. Each players has an equally likely chance of showing up, the developer of the chatbot has seen my code and can vouch for this.
FUNtoon will pick 12 of your 25 players, of which you can use any season of their career. Players 13-24 will be a teammate of the player you chose from the same season.
If FUNtoon picks you Babe Ruth and you select 1920, then you must pick another 1920 Yankee.
If FUNtoon picks you Randy Johnson and you choose 1998, if you take a split season, you must pick from that team. So you CANNOT take 1998 Astros Randy Johnson and 1998 Mariners Griffey.
Your 25th player will be a wild card, anyone of your choice, maximum of $12M, and cannot be the most expensive player on your team.
Stadium can be any home stadium for the 12 main players you were given, in the year you chose OR you can chose WhatIfSports Park.
I bolded the 2 rules above because these have been the source of almost all roster errors in seasons 1 and 2. Note, since I raised the salary cap to $140M I have increase the wild card cap to $12M, but the rule about not being the most expensive player still applies.
You may not use clones unless FUNtoon picks you two of the same player. If FUNtoon selects you Ken Griffey Jr. and Randy Johnson, you cannot use 2004 Johnson and 93 Griffey + 93 Johnson, as teammates cannot be a clone.
In the highly unlikely event that FUNtoon picks you two of the same player who only has 1 WiS season, you can clone any one of your other 11 players as a replacement.
In order to give everyone a fair chance to trade and set their rosters to their liking, I will give everyone their rosters once 24 have signed up.
The draw will be hosted live on twitch for anyone interested to watch, day/time TBA. You do not need to be present to get your players, and the video will be taped so you can watch it later if you wish.
Before the season starts, you will be allowed to trade ONLY your FUNtoon selections with other managers, and the other manager will make his own selection for the teammate. If you trade Randy Johnson the Griffey you were planning to choose as the teammate goes with him, however, the other manager may opt for an A-Rod instead since only the Johnson is required for the roster . You may NOT trade for a player already on your roster.
Preseason will last about 5-7 days post live draft, so people can attempt to make trades if they wish and give everyone a fair chance to build a team.
There will be no WW no AAA and no trades once the season starts.
$140M cap, and this season we will have a DH -- a change from last season!
