Hello!
First off I want to introduce myself. My name is Jordan (not support Jordan) and I am the developer here at WhatIfSports. You will see some of these updates coming from Bob and some coming from me.
First off I want to address the lack of the last bi-weekly update. I can assure everyone that it wasn’t because we weren’t doing anything but we didn’t have much to update anyone on. Based on some feedback received from users the community would rather have a few sentences saying what we are working on or at least checking in instead of no update at all. We appreciate that feedback and are going to give updates even if the updates are not super large. So in the future expect some updates to be larger than others but an update every other week. Thanks for the feedback here. We are also probably going to un-pin older updates and only keep the last few pinned so the critical news forum isn’t filled with pinned updates.
Important Login changes:
As part of our transition from SportsHub we are changing how users login to WhatIfSports. As part of this transition the navigation bar/login page will look different and user intervention may be needed. This change will go into effect February 19th 2025. Below are user instructions and impacts.
First I want to note that you WILL NOT lose access to your account. If there are any problems with accessing your account please contact our support team by email at [email protected] right away and we will verify you and your account.
If currently login with the “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Facebook” buttons:
You can login exactly how you would with the old system by clicking the appropriate button. It will then ask you to login with Google or Facebook if it needs to and redirect you back to WhatIfSports and you will be logged in.
If you currently login with the “Sign in with Apple” button:
We are not currently supporting Apple login. First you need to create an account with your email. This can be done via regular email and password or via the “Sign in with Google” or the “Sign in with Facebook” buttons.
After you create an account with the new system please email [email protected] with
The email you used to sign up with
Your WIS username
Your billing address for account verification
We will then verify and link your account
If you currently login with an email and password:
Click the login button and enter your email
When asked for your password click “Forgot Password”. A password reset link will be sent to your email to reset your password so you can login. You can set the password to the password you previously used if you want or you can set it to a new password.
Then after logging in you will be redirected to WhatIfSports.
If you don't have access to the email you use to login to WhatIfSports:
If you no longer have access to the email you currently use to login please create a support ticket using the support portal at help.whatifsports.com. Please include the email you currently login with, your WIS username, and the email you would like your account updated to. This ticket may stay open until after the migration to ensure you have access to your account.
If you have any questions or need support please email [email protected] with all of the information you have so we can better assist you. Clearing Cache & Cookies may also solve your issue!
There are also some small updates in this release around starting to update the brand to reflect things like new logos and styling.
This will complete the transfer away from SportsHub. That means we can start putting time into other things like some updated support tools so we can help customers faster, quality of life updates, new features, interface updates and of course top secret projects. If anyone has feedback they would like to share please do so at https://feedback.whatifsports.com.
Thanks
- Jordan
