What is the York score? Well, originally it was my attempt to reverse engineer the Chewy score to evaluate an individual player’s value. I originally used it as a drafting tool for me to determine who I should draft next in leagues. It isn't the only thing I look at, but it’s a major factor. However, over time it evolved to include more than it originally had. In short, it is a formula that factors in, at different weights, efficiency scoring (usage and eFG%), 3pm per minute, OReb%, Dreb%, Assist%, TOs, PFs, Def Rating, FTA rate, and Stl%. The idea was to “attempt” to quantify the three pillars in Ash’s tutorials. It quantifies how good a player is at all of the above per minute (I call this portion the Dork score), then adds a multiplier (basically) based on how many minutes that season has.

What the York score does NOT factor:

• If your team meets the minimum usage points and has optimal cumulative usage

• If your team has the minimum amount of assist% as a team on the floor at a time not to be penalized

• Blocks. This is mainly for 2 reasons. 1. I have determined how much weight to give it. And. 2. Even if I do add it to the formula it won’t have much weight. I have noticed that Def rating matters much more to lowering an opponent's FG% than Blk%, and a blocked shot does not automatically mean a changed possession, unlike a steal or a rebound.

Below are the blind York scores for all the players drafted in the 52 this season. Because of the nature of the York scores, your score will be a little higher if you drafted a lot of minutes. I will look at the whole team and the exact seasons used once the teams are all in and give more complete scores later.

Again as long as rift doesn't want to do the evals, I can. I plan to do 3-4 things. I plan to 1. Do a personal eval along with the final York score. Then using Notebook LM, who I have been trying to teach how WIS works, I will have it give a text eval OR (if you all want) have it do a short 15-20 min podcast on each team reviewing it, AND then have it do a conference by conference podcast preview (40-50 min each).
