Moneyball will roll to season 67 during the week of the Memorial Day holiday and we will have at least one opening. I am the commissioner. Please contact me if you have interest in joining. See below for more information about our private league rules.
Monterrey (AL South): this franchise has a .590 win pct over the last ten seasons and has made it to four, and won two, world series in that time frame. It is built on a veteran pitching staff with players like --
Anderson,
Matos,
Daniels,
Roosevelt,
Smith and
Ibarra. Smith and Ibarra have expiring contracts. They might re-sign, but if not, you'll likely get at least type b comps for them. It also has pre-arb pitcher (arb1 in season67)
Solis. The franchise has a bunch of + players on the diamond as well. There are no giant bats, but each player seems to offer enough defense or enough offense to make make a plus WAR player.
We have an MWR of 55/120. The decision on punishment for violating MWR is subjectively decided by the commissioner and i am a reasonable person. If you miss MWR, there is an immediate pythag formula that allows immediate exceptions. After that, the commissioner will evaluate the offending person's franchise. If the commissioner sees true tanking (pitchers being pitched on low energy, players being played out of position, multiple non-mlb players getting innings they should not be getting, etc.), there will be a stiff penalty. If, however, it was just a bad season, the penalty will be reasonable.
While there are many private world rules, they are there to have something in writing to enforce. We do not tolerate lopsided trades, comp pick collusion or any other behavior that is referenced in the fair play guidelines. If you play fair, you will have no issues.
