Mantle has rolled to Season 80, and we are looking for a solid, experienced owner to join us. Mantle is a great, long established world that sims at the top of the hour and has a very small wait time between seasons - we have not had to wait more than a week after a rollover since I've been commissioner and that's something I am committed to keeping going every season I'm in charge.
Mantle has had 8 different champions in the last 9 seasons and no super teams right now. When you join, you can expect short turnarounds between seasons and great competition. We also have a semi active blog that I'm trying to generate at least 4-5 posts per season!
We will be using the Universal DH in Season 80.
Mantle Private World Rules
Rule #1: We have a minimum win requirement(MWR) of 55/120/185/260. Meaning that you must win a minimum of 55 games each season, or 120 games through 2 seasons, 185 through 3 seasons, or 260 over a four season stretch. Midseason replacement owners are exempt during the season in which they assume control of the franchise. The following season they would be required to meet the world minimum. The penalty for not meeting the MWR is as follows. The first offense will cause your franchise to receive a penalty for the following season. This penalty requires you to set your prospect budget no larger than 8 million for the season and it must remain at 8 million or less for the entire season. If you fail to set your prospect budget at 8 million or below, you will be notified by the commissioner of the violation. You must then transfer enough cash from your prospect budget to get it to the required 8 million or less. Failure to comply to the commissioner’s request within 48 hours of the notice being sent out will be cause for removal from Mantle world. A second violation of the stated MWR will be cause for removal from Mantle world.

Rule #2: All franchises are required to maintain healthy pitching staffs and lineups at all levels. If you have multiple minor league pitchers with a zero fatigue within the same level(Rookie-AAA), you will be asked to make corrections. You will be given 1 week to make corrections. If corrections are not made within a week, you will again be reminded of the fatigue issues. If the fatigue issue goes uncorrected for more than 1/3 of the season(54 games), you can be removed from the world. The intention is not to kick out owners over this rule, but to make sure that you keep a properly stocked minor league system and fix issues that come up.
*
Rule #3: The amount of cash received in a trade can not exceed the total amount of salaries being received in that trade at the time in which that trade is scheduled to be completed. If a team is in violation of this rule, then the trade should be vetoed by the other owners of the world and the trade should be resubmitted so that the cash amount is less than the salaries. If the trade goes through and the amount over exceeds $250,000, then the amount over must be returned to the original team by trading a low level player for the cash.

Rule #4: We are all here because we enjoy playing a game. To make sure that Mantle World continues to be a world that owners want to participate in, we will show respect to our fellow owners. There will be no personal attacks in the world chat or any other form of communication between owners. If an owner continues to make comments about another owner or topic within the world after being asked to stop, then that owner shall receive a warning from the commissioner. If the owner continues to make comments to another owner or in world chat about the subject he/she was warned about, they can be removed from the world.
Current Openings
AL East
Dover (84-78)
A playoff team the prior 3 seasons, Dover took a step back but still finished over 0.500. They had a long-term owner at the helm who kept the team in good shape, and now they need a new owner to keep things moving in the right direction. They are led by their offense which finished 8th in the majors in runs scored last season.
William Yoon is going into the final year of his contract but could still be a Type A free agent after the season is over. It's a similar story for
Bartolo Pena so there's some potential draft picks to be had in Season 81.
Jesus Carrasco was their best hitter last season and is one of the better DH's in the league.
Rob Mann is solid against righties and has a career 0.851 OPS in his first three seasons. Their pitching staff wasn't as effective, but they had the Fireman of the Year in
Corey White and have quality pitchers in
Nate Murray and
Jack Ball. They need a couple more true SPs to help round out a staff that has a lot of good long relievers.
In the minors they have a few good prospects including a potential future closer in
Chasen Thames, an infielder and former IFA
Carlos Montero, and OF
Orlando Nunez. They have only $49 million in contracts for next season before rollover, so there's room to try and spend on players now or build towards the future.
