Why do my players keep regressing after rollover? Topic

At 1A, my players routinely regress at rollover. Specifically, it's the ratings that hit 92/93/94. They will always drop 1 point. Multiple OL and DL who were 92/92 dropped to 91/91. Work ethic, potential and age don't appear to matter. It's super frustrating. Does anyone have advice on how to keep this from happening?

It is built into the game. I don't think there is anything you can do.

I seem to recall a post from many years ago where the explanation was rounding up and rounding down of decimal points when computing attributes. I don't recall specifics, but I bet you could search the forums and find them.

Players above 90 in an attribute other than WE automatically regress back toward 90 in the offseason. The amount of regression seems to be directly related to the player's work ethic. It should be known that players have a truncated rating display. The 92 speed could be 91.6 and it could be 92.4 (and I don't think it's only down to tenths -- I'm simplifying for the sake of an example). So let's say you have a player with a true 95.0 speed and a true 80.0 work ethic. Based on my observations of the system, that player is going to start the next season with a true 94.0 speed. You take the amount over 90 (or 5.0 in this case) and multiply it by the work ethic rating as a percentage (80%) in this case. I'm not a system coder but I've made observations like these over the years since GD rolled out and this is one I'm pretty confident on.
