We were unexpectedly dominant in this game. I'm starting to get a little worked up about the possibilities for this team. Still, our FT shooting is pretty bad.

Sweet. It is looking, not to count my chickens before they hatch, or whatever, like I should finish the non-conference season at 10-0. That will make my job for the rest of this season so much easier. The press really worked here.

Coach, I know you're hearing this all over the place and I don't mean to add to the hype, but the campus is going crazy about your start to the season! No matter what happens, you can't take away a perfect start to the season, although I'm sure you'll be just as disappointed as the rest of us if Michigan St. doesn't win a conference title. Ok, back to coaching the #8 team in the country :)

I just realized that I didn't post the box score for this game yesterday. Well, here it is. Our press wasn't exactly working but we stopped Baylor from getting the ball in the basket. We were also pretty good on offense (but not great at holding on to the ball).

I knew that this wouldn't be an easy game, but we got crushed. At least it doesn't hurt our RPI much, but we do need to win about half of our conference games, and this is a bad start.

Far from a pretty game, but a win. At least our FT shooting was good this time out. We lost the rebounding battle but forced a lot of turnovers, so it wound up about even. Conference wins are absolutely key this year, as are home wins. Glad we got it.

Huge win against oldresorter's #2 Wisconsin Badgers team. I ran a slowdown against his press. It worked nicely. Freeman had a lot of assists and Osowski had a lot of points (for him, anyways), kind of flipping roles. Whatever works.

---------

I'm hoping to go 10-0 next season during non-conference again, which is a big part of why I scheduled so many home games. I'd also like to keep my SOS in the 100-200 range before conference play starts, which is why I scheduled so many decent teams. I don't think a lot of the guys who look particularly good this year are going to look as good next year, because they should have as many or more graduating players as I do. I'm going to be losing a lot of scoring - 4 out of 5 of my starters will graduate. That can't be helped, it's a product of having a strong class and putting my best team on the court right now. Still, I hope it's not too painful.

Ugh. Do you suppose "ugly" comes from "ugh"? We just had a bad game, and right after having an amazing one. Indiana was a team I should've beaten. They're not bad, but they're not at the top of the conference.

Jimmy Brown wasn't injured, he just started each half with two quick fouls, and our bench was deep enough to just let him sit. Harry Anderson should've agreed to redshirt, if not last year then this year. Oh well. It might've helped us win this game that he didn't. He's been complaining about his minutes, but I'm obviously not doing anything drastic to my team's chemistry.
