Tanner strikes again. This has to be the ugliest rivalry in Smith DI.

Anyways, we lose. Good game, tanner. You got me both times, this year.

unranked foreigner, ****; redshirting. Osowski is a developmental prospect, but a good one. His perimeter rating could certainly improve, and hopefully will considerably. I like his rebounding. I don't like his athleticism. He shoots FTs pretty well. That about covers it.
Osowski got good...not great, but good. He could conceivably be drafted. A four-year starter, he's been very solid for me.

#33 PG, #147 Overall, ****; no promises (but I could've promised 15 minutes easily). Louis Boulay has two of the key ingredients to a good PG - passing and ballhandling. He could stand to improve his speed, and I'll certainly be working on his perimeter shooting. I like Boulay's rebounding, and I like that I got him on the cheap side. He's a little underrated due to his durability.
I let Louis Boulay loose this year and he responded well. He's a good player, not a pro, but a solid college guy. He did get a lot faster, and it helped.

#28 SF, #276 Overall, ***; no promises (I asked him to redshirt but he said no). I really wanted Thomas Mulvey to redshirt, but it is impossible, as far as I've seen, to get a half-decent SF to agree to that. Since Mulvey is (roughly) half-decent, it was a doomed effort and I should've known better than mention it, instead waiting to see if he'd take it upon showing up at campus. Mulvey is, without question, a career backup. His FT shooting is abysmal, and he doesn't excel anywhere except perimeter shooting (and that, only to a degree). Still, I had two promising looking SFs fall through, to Michigan and Pittsburgh, respectively, and the options behind Mr. Mulvey were ineligibles, who I wanted even less than a non-redshirtable redshirt candidate.
As good as his overall rating is, I don't expect Thomas Mulvey to get drafted. Maybe if he'd redshirted, like I asked (but that would have Labriola un-redshirted). I hope Labriola doesn't leave early...anyways, Mulvey was okay. Nothing special, but he did his job.

#21 PF, #84 Overall, *****; no promises. If you want to see a truly compelling candidate for an uninformed red-shirt-i-fi-ca-tion, meet Harry Anderson, a.k.a. Mr. Michigan (Michigan Man?). Anderson has great potential, and an extra year would do nothing but good for him, provided his WE isn't shattered by the prospect. He is raw, raw, raw. Frontcourt TarTar. However, he's got good speed, decent athleticism, great defense, and decidedly undeveloped rebounding and low post. His shot blocking is low for a big man, but that won't change much, and it matters to me about as much as it will change.

Coach, I wasn't sure how I'd take being redshirted this season, but to be honest, I've never been more upset or angry in my life.

I just don't think it's cool that you didn't say that I would be looking at a redshirt season when I got here.

Harry
----------

dropped his WE down to 9. Not acceptable. I'll try someone else.

Harry Anderson ultimately became an okay player. His rebounding was a big issue from the start of his career to the finish. Even now, while it's reasonably high, he still wasn't pulling down a lot of boards...the edge that other guys had must have made a difference. Still, like I said, he was alright. I wish he'd been a potential-era guy because I wouldn't have recruited him without a "high potential" on rebounding, considering where he started.

#7 PG, #52 overall, ****; no promises. I don't know how much better Edmund Snyder is going to get. His rating will look better, because of the high potential on durability, but the only substatial areas of improvement that I'll see from him are atheticism, perimeter shooting, and FT shooting. The thing is, his defense is okay, and so is his rebounding. His stamina isn't the best I've ever seen, and it won't get much better, but it's not so bad that it should be a serious detriment to the team. I don't think this guy will be an NBA player, but he could get to that point.

#8 SG, #45 overall, ****; no promises. I did try to promise 15 minutes to Robert Simpson, early in the recruiting process, but he declined. The only weakness I see in Simpson's game, long-term, is with ballhandling. That should get better pretty steadily, though. His speed, athleticism, and stamina will skyrocket together. I like that he has potential in rebounding, even if it isn't high. I like that he'll shoot FTs well. I love his defense. His perimeter game and passing are already good. Basically, at the moment he's a spot-up shooter. In the future, he'll be able to create his own shot. A great signing, I think, and a very likely draft pick.
