redshirting. Here, on the other hand, we have a surefire 5 year player. Couey will be a backup PG throughout his time here. It's possible, if he tops out high enough, that he could start as a senior.
Personally, I would've gone for a different redshirt candidate, Michael Gill, who was signed by Bradley. He was an SG/SF, but I like Couey just fine (I saw him as a backup option). However, with this team I'm more of an assistant coach - I get to give my opinion or handle some day-to-day things, but the final call comes to my successor.
